1. First, cleanse and condition with your favorite Aveda shampoo and conditioner—such as Color Conserve shampoo and conditioner, if you have colored-treated hair.
2. Prep hair by spraying on Brilliant Damage Control to protect from thermal damage and reduce breakage; comb through.
3. Apply Phomollient Styling Foam to add light hold and weightless volume; again, comb through to distribute evenly.
4. Use a blow-dryer with a nozzle attachment set at high heat and high speed to pre-dry hair until it’s about 60% dry.
5. Then finger-dry hair: clamping it between your fingers as you pull it tautly in one direction while blow-drying. Repeat the process in the opposite direction. Finger-dry all hair from back to sides to top
6. To finish, emulsify Control Paste Finishing Paste in hands to add texture and hold. Open your fingers like a comb and slide hands up each side of the head, pushing hair into a Mohawk shape to distribute product.
7. Tousle the hair, then piece and arrange as desired.
